  • Tomsk scientists have developed a mathematical model that will help optimize the synthesis of complex metal compounds

    23 jun 2022

Scientists of the Tomsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Oleg Lapshin and Oksana Ivanova proposed a mathematical model for studying two-step mechanochemical synthesis of inorganic substances in wave combustion mode. This model, published in the high-ranking journal Powder Technology, will help find optimal modes of production of expensive composites and significantly develop a new macrokinetic theory.

  • High-tech equipment was delivered to Italy

    22 feb 2022
Scientists from the Tomsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS in cooperation with the innovative company "Mikrosplav" delivered high-tech equipment to two Italian customers. Students and teachers will use it to conduct scientific and experimental works at the Beam Technology Center (Milan Polytechnic University), and the company GalvanoTechnik S.p.A. (Gardone Val Trompia) will integrate the equipment into the production line for deposition of coatings on products and parts.
  • New ceramic sintering furnace

    9 feb 2022
The scientists of the Tomsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS manufactured a prototype of an energy-saving sintering furnace that uses the filtration combustion of natural gas and is designed to synthesize and sinter a wide range of refractory ceramics used in energetics, metallurgy, and aerospace engineering.
  • New catalysts for wastewater treatment

    11 jan 2022

The scientists of the Tomsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS have developed a new cost-effective method to produce a highly effective catalyst from waste ferroalloys by impregnation with carbon nitride. Filters made from this material serve several times longer than their analogs. The results of this research were reported in two high-ranking journals, such as Ceramics International and Materials Letters .
